Rich has a Master's Degree in Multimedia and has studied five years full time, specialising in painting and photography. He has won many art prizes over the last 10 years including the $7,000 Churchie Emerging Art Award (1997), Conrad Jupiters Art Prize Scholarship (1998), $10,000 Courier Mail Art Prize (2002), and the $10,000 Rotary Art Prize (2005).
